Tamandua Biological Station

Located just 4 km from Drake Bay town, Tamandua Biological Station is located in the Golfo Dulce Forestry Reserve and borders the Corcovado National Park. We have an amazing tropical forest with rich biodiversity. The property has its own trails where you can enjoy beautiful waterfalls, natural swimming holes and lots of animals.
We have three bungalows with shared bathrooms; everything is simple but very comfortable. A resting area with hammocks next to the river, a nice dining room surrounded by a beautiful garden and a kitchen where we prepare traditional Costa Rican food (also available for you to cook by yourself if you wish).
This is a special place for nature lovers, you can enjoy the jungle sounds; during the morning a lot of birds sing in the garden and at night many insects and frogs come to sing next to the river.
We offer guided tours withing the property (night tour, horseback riding, bird watching and waterfall tour). Also we offer hiking tours into Corcovado National Park and a snorkeling or scuba diving tour at Caño Island Biological Reserve.
During the dry season, Tamandua is accessible by 4x4 cars. During rainy season, Tamandua is accessible by horse, quad or hiking but not by car.
